FAQ
Motivate Football Code of Conduct

At Motivate Football Academy Australia (MFAA), a player’s success is measured not only by their football ability, but by their attitude, behaviour, and commitment to improvement. We closely observe how players conduct themselves during training and provide honest, constructive feedback on areas they can improve—both on and off the field.
We believe that becoming a good footballer starts with becoming a good human being. This includes showing respect to others, committing to consistent training, maintaining humility, and developing the drive to succeed in both football and life. Players are encouraged to work hard, embrace challenges, learn from failure, and persist through setbacks. Growth comes from resilience, effort, and the willingness to fail many times in pursuit of long-term goals.

How does academy training differ from club training?

Motivate Football Academy is focused purely on individual player development. Unlike club training, which is largely team and game-based, our sessions are designed to improve individual skill, confidence, and comfort on the ball.

Training places a strong emphasis on high-intensity ball mastery, dribbling techniques, and 1v1 situations. We follow a street football and futsal-based philosophy, teaching players to perform in tight spaces, take risks, and express themselves without fear of making mistakes.

Between technical drills, players complete short agility and speed exercises to ensure training remains game-related. Each session is designed to maximise ball contact—often exceeding 1,000 touches per player—to build familiarity and confidence. Players are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and develop techniques that suit their own style of play.

Our goal is for players to return to their club environments with greater confidence, sharper skills, and improved decision-making. We support players at all levels, from community football to NPL and academy pathways.

What should my child wear to training?
Players are encouraged to wear the Motivate Football Academy training kit. If unavailable, players should wear a shirt, shorts, football socks, shin pads, and football boots. Motivate Football apparel is available for purchase through our online store.

What is the coach-to-player ratio?
Our preferred coach-to-player ratio is one coach per 12 players. Sessions are also supported by an assistant coach, often a senior academy player aged 15–17. This approach not only ensures quality supervision but also provides leadership, communication, and coaching development opportunities for our older players.
